Our huts are located just a short drive from Creede, Colorado, high in the San Juan Mountains. Elevation ranges from 10,500 to 11,000 feet. Learn more About the Area here.
The 5 mile ski up Forest Service Road 527 is a 1500 foot elevation gain. We recommend snowshoeing, cross-country skiing or Telemark skiing up to the hut or yurt. Upon arrival at the hut or yurt, the terrain varies from beginner to intermediate to expert class. The broad, exposed shoulder of Fisher Mountain makes for good varied terrain skiing.

Each person must have sufficient experience in route finding, winter survival, and assessment of the risks associated with winter travel to be responsible for their own safety. Winter travel can be hazardous due to the risks of sudden extreme weather changes, snow conditions, and other factors. The users must also ensure someone knows where they are and what time they are expected to return.
